Around 2013 Cindy attended a networking event at a newly opened spa where all the women entrepreneurs got complimentary manicures, pedicures, facials and massages. Her friend was there who has twins with Autism and was going through a divorce. Cindy took a picture of her that night, smiling in her robe, sipping champagne, and said, "She needs this more than anyone here." She saved that picture and said to herself, "One day I'm going to do this on a bigger scale for other moms of Autistic kids."

     In October 2021 her dream finally became a reality! She called up a group of friends who range from Autism moms to Special Ed teachers to salon owners and professional party planners to create a dynamic team.  She called the retreat the "Lemonade Event" because when she first started planning the event things seemed to go sour, but it all turned around and actually became an amazing event! 

     Cindy's main concern is knowing that Autism moms lack sleep, are under constant stress, can get depressed, have a hard time meeting other people and making friends, and would like to meet other Autism moms.

So she her main goals for the retreat were:

A) Massages for relaxation

B) Bonding activities for moms to make new friends

C) Laughter!

      At the retreat moms were treated to lunch and dinner (and wine!). They enjoyed back and hand massages, a paint party, and other activities where they could hang out together to talk. There were a few speakers there. But this was not a conference, so the speakers were there to encourage and uplift the moms, not give long, boring speeches. Four of the moms were surprised with a makeover! (Two of them had not gotten a hair cut in two years!) They were whisked away to a local salon where they they had their hair colored and cut, professional makeup done, a new wardrobe chosen by a professional stylist, and professional headshots taken by a photographer. Then that evening they returned for a fashion show style reveal while the DJ pumped up the jam and the crowd went wild! For the finale to the evening a professional comedian who has an Autistic son himself helped them laugh their cares away. 

     The event was such a success that she founded the Robbie's World Foundation so that people can donate money to help her hold more events throughout New Jersey and beyond. Cindy has much bigger dreams for the foundation, like building a community of homes for adults with Autism. Right now this is just the beginning. Stay tuned!
